Something to say
It might seem obvious, but if you’re going to be interviewed by the media, it’s helpful to actually have something to say.
You don’t want to dominate the interview, but having a couple of interesting, well-rehearsed anecdotes is essential if you want to avoid the passive, “I’m-here-what-do-you-want-to-ask-me” posture that lets the journalist determine the course of the interview.
Having something to say also helps to avoid interviews like this one – with Iceland’s Sigur Ros — that’s so bad it’s good.
