Share the joy
If you’ve had a good year, consider sharing the wealth this holiday season.
There are lots of ways to do it. Here are two that I like.
Now, on the Spot (NOT$) is a do-it-yourself form of philanthropy that’s perfect for people visiting developing countries over the holidays. NOT$ recently redesigned their website, which lists 38 worthwhile organizations in countries throughout Asia that accept donations in kind. Giving through NOT$ is personal, effective and efficient.
More on NOT$ in the weeks ahead.
The Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care (SPHC) provides bereavement support services and develops and delivers related training programs for health care professionals in Hong Kong. It’s important work that eases people’s suffering when they are vulnerable.
The SPHC also organizes the annual Hike for Hospice, a fund-raising event in the New Territories that will take place on February 24. I’ll be taking part again this year, and I’ll be hitting up my friends for sponsorship in the new year.
You’ve been warned!
